Vertigo characters are crossing over with the DC Universe, thunder gods are getting new ongoing series — it's mass hysteria in the world of sequential art, just in time for another New Comic Book Day. This just in: A live-action Thor feature film is coming out next Friday. Weird, right? To commemorate the occasion, Marvel's putting a new ongoing series, The Mighty Thor #1, in stores this week, by writer Matt Fraction and artist Olivier Coipel, making his return to the character after relaunching him with J. Michael Straczynski a few years back. Both of DC's biweekly series come to an end this week, in Brightest Day #24 (find out more about that comic in our spoiler-filled interview) and Justice League: Generation Lost #24. Also, Action Comics reaches the rather notable milestone of #900, bringing the year-long Lex Luthor saga to an end and Superman back to the book. Elsewhere in the comicsphere: BOOM! Studios is launching a new Planet of the Apes ongoing series, Morning Glories #9 continues the ever-buzzworthy Image title by Nick Spencer and Joe Eisma, Velocity #4 wraps things up for the Top Cow miniseries, plus there's a new issue of The Walking Dead.
