Yost & McKone on Three-Issue FEAR ITSELF: SPIDER-MAN Tie-In

Yost & McKone on FEAR ITSELF: SPIDER-MAN

Spider-Man is the star of his own Fear Itself tie-in miniseries, Fear Itself: Spider-Man, announced by Marvel Comics on Thursday.

The three-issue miniseires will be written by Christopher Yost, the head writer of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes on Disney XD and co-writer of stints on New X-Men and X-Force with frequent collaborator Craig Kyle. Mike McKone, recently of Avengers Academy, is on art duties for the series.

In an interview published in early January on Newsarama, main Fear Itself writer Matt Fraction described Spider-Man's role in the story as, "Thematically, my approach to Spider-Man in this is that he is really the presence of vox populi. He is the voice of the people, he is the guy on the streets. That there is an art image of him surrounded by the anxiety of the people is perfectly appropriate."

Fear Itself: Spider-Man starts in May, with a cover price of $2.99. The series joins other previously announced Fear Itself tie-ins including Fear Itself: The Home Front, Nick Spencer and Scot Eaton on Secret Avengers, the April-launching Herc series, and the prologue Fear Itself: Book of the Skull.
