J.H. Williams III may not have had the highest published output of his career in 2010, but that doesn't mean he wasn't working. As co-writer and artist of the new ongoing Batwoman series launching soon, he had a lot of prep work on his plate.

For our readers, it seems some covers and that #0 issue are all it took to keep them enthralled by Williams' art. There's plenty more where that came from, though, with the ongoing launching in February. His unique rendering, the one-of-a-kind design sense, and experimental panel layouts have been thrilling fans for the last few years, and will only get more high-profile in 2011.

How did he get to the winner's circle? Well, he had to go indirectly through fifteen amazingly talented artists. Personally, Williams defeated Stuart Immonen, Frazer Irving, Yanick Paquette, and Francis Manapul on his way to victory.

While the man behind the pencil is quite busy, he did take a moment to send over this statement to you, the fans:

"Thanks so much to the readers, and the Newsarama crew, for all of the good vibes sent my way.  I hope you'll find enjoyment from the new material to come in 2011 as well."
