Just call Knight and Squire
the giant killers. The Batman and Robin
spin-off mini-series has been lauded for its deep Britishisms and laugh out loud humour and now it has knocked the #1 seed out of the competition. It's up against another book that still puts the funny in Funny Books, the final volume of Scott Pilgrim
In the other corner, two more DC limited series are in for a battle. Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne
sent the titular character on a mind-bending journey through time, where he discovered the truth about his family's past and the man who has plagued him of late. Ultimately, as you no doubt know, it ended with Bruce back in the present, and back in the cowl. Justice League: Generation Lost
is also a book steeped in history, with the JLI re-teamed to try to take down Max Lord. The big problem there is no one remembers Lord exists except them.
Now it's up to you to vote again.
Remember, you don’t
have to be a registered Newsarama reader
to participate. EVERYONE can help choose by picking one choice in each
of the below brackets. Again, there are two of them in the Semi-finals, so
keep going until you’ve voted in BOTH brackets. Voting for the Semi-finals
will remain open for 1 week.
Newsarama Note: Full methodology for nomination is below the polls.
10 Newsarama contributors submitted their lists for their personal
Top 20 in each of the five categories. The results were tabulated using a
weighted system that awarded an escalating number points according to
how high the nominee appeared on the list - 20th place was worth 1
point, 19th place 2 points ... up to 20 points for 1st place.
The final nominee lists are the top 16 nominees with the highest point totals in each category.
Each bracket is seeded according to point total, with the highest vote-getter in each bracket moving onto the next round.
will be 4 total rounds for each category (the “Sinister 16”, "Extremis
8", “Fantastic Four” and Finals) eventually resulting in one overall
“Favorite of 2010” for each group.
