Mike Carey is writing all seven parts of the main Age of X story, but Simon Spurrier is handling the two-issue tie-in series Age of X Universe, checking in on how the rest of the Marvel Universe is handling the X-Men-less timeline. Like the original Age of X teasers, this first Age of X Universe image features several heroes in silhouette.Spurrier has written a handful of Marvel titles recently, most notably 2007's four-issue miniseries Silver Surfer: In Thy Name. Handling art will be Khoi Pham, who's currently illustrating the Chaos War five-isuse series. Age of X Universe seems to serve a similar purpose as the two-issue X-Universe series released during the thematically similar "Age of Apocalypse" storyline in the mid-'90s. Earlier today, Newsarama published an in-depth interview with Mike Carey on Age of X.
