Let's start with some unfortunate business: We can see when there's massive ballot-stuffing. For some reason, that happened on not one, not two, but FOUR of the polls in round one of the Limited Series/OGN brackets. It's unfortunate, because with some close calls, if people had known the actual status of the votes, they might've pushed one or the other over the edge.
Regardles, here we are with eight stellar Limited Series and OGNs, down from 16 amazing ones. In the absolute closest individual bracket yet, 12 seed Thanos Imperative upset 5 seed Daytripper by TWO votes. Mystery Society also pulled the upset against Velocity, in an amusing faux-aggressive twitter campaign by the two series writers, Steve Niles and Insufferable Ron Marz. No matter how close, there were 8 winners in round 1, who are now going head-to-head in round 2. Now it's up to you to vote again.
Remember, you don’t
have to be a registered Newsarama reader
to participate. EVERYONE can help choose by picking one choice in each
of the below brackets. Again, there are four of them in Round 2, so
keep going until you’ve voted in ALL four brackets. Voting for Round 2
will remain open for 1 week.
Newsarama Note: Full methodology for nomination is below the polls.
10 Newsarama contributors submitted their lists for their personal
Top 20 in each of the five categories. The results were tabulated using a
weighted system that awarded an escalating number points according to
how high the nominee appeared on the list - 20th place was worth 1
point, 19th place 2 points ... up to 20 points for 1st place.
The final nominee lists are the top 16 nominees with the highest point totals in each category.
Each bracket is seeded according to point total, with the highest vote-getter in each bracket moving onto the next round.
will be 4 total rounds for each category (the “Sinister 16”, "Extremis
8", “Fantastic Four” and Finals) eventually resulting in one overall
“Favorite of 2010” for each group.
