INKWELL AWARDS Presented Live At NECC

2010 INKWELL AWARDS TO BE PRESENTED LIVE AT WIZARD'S NEW ENGLAND COMIC CON

For the first time, the Inkwell Awards will present their 2010 trophies live at Wizardworld's recently acquired New England Comic Con which is scheduled to take place in Boston, MA at the Hynes Convention Center on October 1-3, 2010.  In the previous two years, the awards results were announced online at their website.  The award recipients will be presented their trophies and then take part in a Q&A session with fans.  In anticipation of the event, all fans will be encouraged to vote online at (www.inkwellawards.com) for their favorite ink artists.  "Previously the voting has taken place in June but due to the later in the year date of the show event, the ballot will be posted at the site in August", said Bob Almond,  founder and director of the Inkwell Awards.  “There will be a lot of new developments coming from us this year and having Wizard’s support will be integral to increasing the awareness and exposure of these, and future, developments of the organization."  Gareb Shamus, CEO of New York based Wizard Entertainment (http://www.wizardworld.com/), said "The Inkwell Awards recognizes unsung heroes of the comics industry.  We’re helping this organization develop because it’s important to the industry."

The Inkwell Awards is a non-profit charity organization entering it’s third year whose mission is to inform fans about the craft of inking and recognize ink artists for their quality work and contribution to the comic book industry and sequential art process.  They host the Joe Sinnott Hall of Fame Award and the Dave Simons Inkwell Memorial Scholarship for the legendary Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art.  Along with Bob, Daniel Best, Jim Tournas, Bob Shaw and Nathan Massengill comprise the awards committee.  Editor Mike Marts and artists Adam Hughes and Ethan Van Sciver act as Ambassadors for the Inkwell Awards.
