Well, couldn't have guessed THIS one, could you?

The tournament started by having 11 Newsarama Contributors submit lists of 20. Amongst these, there were 89 different titles submitted for the "Favorite Limited Series and Graphic Novels" category. We learned a couple of things. One, we should really do an individual bracket next year for Indie projects, and that will definitely happen. Two, you people weren't kidding when you voted Geoff Johns as your Favorite Writer of 2009. Anyhow, it came down to a list of 16, 4 brackets of 4, and the voting began. After one week, only 4 remained, and then it came down to two. DC Entertainment continued their sweep of the finals, with two Geoff Johns-penned books, Blackest Night and The Flash: Rebirth, as the finalists.

I believe the phrase "no contest" can be aptly applied here. 5041 to 419. 91%. No matter how you cut it, there is absolutely no doubt that Blackest Night was your favorite Limited Series of 2009. This of course makes sense, as Geoff Johns was also your Favorite Writer, and series artist Ivan Reis won your vote for Favorite Artist. Here's what a few of you had to say:

Doc Brass:

Stephen B:

I think once Flash:Rebirth is done and one can read it from start to finish in one sitting, it'll prove to be a stronger story than originally thought.

That said, Blackest Night is yet another well-done epic by Johns. No contest, really.
