Face it, tiger - Zendaya may not be Mary Jane Watson.

Spider-Man: Homecoming actress Zendaya has shot down widely-circulated reports that her character, named "Michelle" in publicity for the upcoming film, would later be revealed to be, in fact, Spider-Man's long-time paramour Mary Jane Watson. In an interview with MTV, the former Disney Channel star says she's "100% Michelle" and that that is her character's real name.

"My character is 100% Michelle. That's her name; I promise you I'm not lying," said Zendaya. "She's definitely a diffeerent character. A character I can have fun with and just really create what I wanted to make of her. The director had a lot of ideas on making her weird, interesting, and cool."

"She's like my spirit animal," the actress continued. "She's how I feel on the inside."

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters July 7.
