Raza Jaffrey is the latest hired for Netflix's Lost In Space television series reboot, according to Deadline. The Homeland alum will reportedly play Victor, a seemingly new character but whose description bears some resemblance to Dr. Zachary Smith.

"Well groomed, educated and officious, with a sense of entitlement, Victor has been a career builder and politician from a young age," the character is described by Deadline. "There is arrogance and impatience about him. All this masks the underlying fear that he’ll one day be found out…..that he isn’t quite good enough."

Jaffrey is best-known for his recent role on Showtime's Homeland, and also appeared in CBS's Code Black and BBC's Spooks.

This new Lost In Space reboot is overseen by Dracula Untold screenwriters Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. A ten-episode first season is scheduled to debut sometime in 2018.
