Star Trek: Deep Space Nine alum Alexander Siddig has been cast to play Ra's al Ghul in Fox's Gotham. In somewhat spoiler-ly news, al Ghul will be discovered to be behind the Court of Owls that have been appearing in the series.
"With his past shrouded in mystery, Ra's al Ghul uses cunning and deception to lay waste to his foes," reads DC's description of the character. "As the leader of an international criminal organization known as the League of Shadows, Ra's al Ghul will prove himself to be Bruce's most dangerous adversary yet."
This will be the third live-action iteration of the character. Liam Neeson famously played him in 2005's Batman Begins and briefly in 2012's The Dark Knight Rises. Matthew Nable played the role in both the CW's Arrow and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
In addition to Deep Space Nine, Siddig has also appeared on HBO's Game of Thrones.
Siddig will debut later this spring after the show returns from its winter hiatus on April 24.
