Fox's untitled X-Men TV show may not center around the X-Men themselves, but according to creator/showrunner Matt Nix, members of the venerable mutant superhero team will appear on the show - he's just not saying which ones.

"Suffice it to say it's a show that contains some characters that fans will be excited about," Nix told CNET. "I can't talk about specifics, but it's not like there are no X-Men in it."

That may not seem like much of a stretch, but the last live-action X-Men-based show, Mutant X, didn't have any actual X-Men.

This leaves us to speculate as to which characters could appear. Without knowing which generation of the X-Men films the series ties into, it's difficult to predict. However, it may be safe to assume that the budget constraints of television would leave many of the top cinematic X-Men off the table, perhaps paving the way for characters that haven't been depicted in live action yet.

The untitled X-Men show is currently in pre-production for a pilot. No premiere date has been announced.
