More details have been released on Marvel Animation's upcoming Spider-Man animated series coming to Disney XD. In addition to the previously announced producer Kevin Shinick and director Philip Pignotti, long-time Amazing Spider-Man writer Dan Slott will act as a consulting producer on the project.

"We've been secretly nurturing Marvel's Spider-Man for years now, so we are thrilled to finally announce it," said Marvel Animation SVP Cort Lane. "The simple title reflects a back-to-basics approach – the story of an ordinary teen, Peter Parker, who suddenly finds himself with strange new powers and overwhelming responsibility. And thanks to Story Editor Kevin Shinick (Robot Chicken, Mad) and Supervising Director Philip Pignotti (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble) it's just filled with heart and humor."

The full slate of producers for Spider-Man are executive producers Alan Fine, Dan Buckley, and Joe Quesada; co-executive producers Stan Lee, Eric Radomski, Cort Lane, and Stephen Wacker; supervising producers Kevin Shinick and Marsha Griffin; consulting producers Dan Slott, Kevin Burke, and Chris "Doc" Wyatt, and supervising director Philip Pignotti.

Spider-Man is scheduled to debut on Disney XD in 2017.
