Three actors have been offically cast in Marvel Studios' The Punisher series on Netflix scheduled to debut in 2017. The previously-rumored Ben Barnes has been cast as Billy Russo, with Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, and Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani.
“I’m really excited about the cast we're assembling alongside Bernthal as Frank Castle,” said showrunner Steve Lightfoot. “I look forward to watching Ben, Ebon and Amber embody these characters and breathe vivid life into the story we are crafting for this season of Marvel's The Punisher."
Barnes' Billy Russo is described as Frank Castle's best friend from his time in the armed forces. Now out of the service, he runs a private military corporation dubbed Anvil.
Girls' actress Moss-Bachrach plays Punisher's long-time comic book sidekick Micro, whom Marvel describes as "a former NSA analyst whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle and everyone around them."
Dinah Madani (played by Amber Rose Revah) is a Homeland Security agent who is "vexed" by Castle.
"We couldn’t be more thrilled about the remarkable talent joining Jon Bernthal in Marvel’s The Punisher," said head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb. "Ebon, Ben and Amber are incredibly talented actors and we can’t wait to see them bring these characters to life."
