Ben Affleck's still untitled Batman solo movie may be heading to theaters sooner than expected. According to Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes, the film is "about 18 months out."

"The reboot of Batman [in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice] with Ben Affleck was a big success," said Bewkes at Goldman Sachs' Communacopia 2016 event. "He’s going to be [executive producer] on Justice League, and that’s helpful to the team. And Ben announced a Batman movie that he’s going to write, direct, and star in – I think it’s a year and a half out.”

It's important to note that Bewkes's estimate doesn't make it clear whether that's when the film may be released, or when production may begin. 18 months from now would be March 2018. Considering Warner Bros. has scheduled Flash for release on March 18, 2018, it seems more likely that that 18-month timeline would mark the start of production, possibly putting it in line to take the October 5, 2018 release date that WB has reserved for an untitled DC Films project.
