Marvel's Cloak & Dagger television series is still in development at Freeform (formerly ABC Family) with no cast or premiere date yet announced, but Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb already has a clear vision for the series, and why it's a perfect fit on Freeform.

“It’s a love story that happens to have characters that have always traditionally been in that age group,” Loeb said at a Television Critics Association event (via SlashFilm). “It’s not like we took something and made it into a YA. It speaks to a YA audience and is a YA property. Would I do Punisher on Freeform? I don’t think that’s going to connect the same way.”

Cloak & Dagger tells the story of two teenage runaways who develop superpowers when they are victims of an experiment by street drug dealers. The series has been in and out of development at Freeform/ABC Family since 2011.
