The Walking Dead creators Tony Moore and Robert Kirkman are reuniting for a unique celebration in the book's literal and figurative hometown. Cynthiana, Kentucky is hosting "The Walking Dead Day" on Saturday, August 6, and both creators will be on-hand for the festivities.
Cynthiana plans a "massive zombie apocalypse street festival" according to Moore, and 10,000 copies of new The Walking Dead #1 variant edition with a new coverfeaturing the town's main street area will be given away at the city's Chamber of Commerce. The city also plans to erect a sign honoring the franchise and the two creators.
Both Kirkman and Moore are from Cynthiana, and they mirrored that as the hometown of The Walking Dead's Rick Grimes.
