Willem Dafoe has reportedly joined the cast of Netflix's live-action movie of popular manga Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. According to Mashable, Dafoe will voice the character Ryuk the Shinagami in the series.
Death Note tells the story of a high school student who has a magic notebook that allows him to kill anyone whose name he inscribes in its pages. Netflix's adaptation was originally on the slate at Warner Bros. before the streaming service picked it up.
This comes as Dafoe is in the midst of filming Justice League for Warner Bros., playing the role of Nuidis Vulko.
Death Note is currently filming for a 2017 release.
