Power/Rangers fan film director Joseph Kahn has revealed that he pitched Warner Bros. for the opportunity to direct the long-gestating Justice League Dark / Dark Universe movie originally helmed by Guillermo del Toro. The director posted a short animatic of Swamp Thing walking, which he said he orchestrated as part of his pitch to Warner Bros.
"I pitched on Dark Universe before it became an animated movie," Kahn wrote on Vimeo "Here's an 8 second test of Swamp Thing I designed."

For this project, Kahn worked with conceptual artist Justin Goby Fields and sound mixer Fletcher Alliston, with Ingenuity Studios doing the visual effects.
Originally announced in 2013, del Toro's Dark Universe was based on the 2011 "New 52" title Justice League Dark. After delays between the director and the studio, in June 2015 it was reported that del Toro left the project but that work would continue. At this year's Comic-Con International: San Diego, Warner Bros. announced plans for an animated Justice League Dark film, but no information was given about the live-action project's status.
