Although ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is heavily tied into the Inhumans mythos and might seem hurt by the delays to the Inhumans movie, co-showrunner Jed Whedon said the change of movie plans has offered them "more freedeom" and the ability to enlist some of the classic Inhumans.

“We do have a little more freedom,” Whedon told io9 when asked about the effects of the Inhumans delay. “We’ve told a couple of seasons of stories but now we do have some more freedom. So when we return to focusing on Inhumans, we’ll be able to do a little bit more.”

Although not quoted directly, io9 relays that Whedon and co-showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen relayed that they will now "be able to use some of the classic Inhumans."

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for its fourth season September 20 on ABC.
