Legendary Pictures is reportedly in talks to develop a live-action Pokémon movie, according to Deadline. This comes after the skyrocketing popularity of the 21-year-old game franchise following the near-overnight success of the augmented-reality Pokémon Go mobile game. The popularity of that game helped give the stocks of Nintendo, who co-owns the brand, a 25% stock boost resulting $9 billion gain.

No further details on Legendary's reported talks are known, but Deadline said a previous pitch for a live-action Pokémon movie had Chronicle screenwriter Max Landis attached.
