BOOM! Studios has reached an agreement with Discount Comic Book Service (DCBS) to handle fulfillment of its online storefront. The Los Angeles-based publisher tells Newsarama that the decision comes after the rapid growth of business to BOOM!'s webstore.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the team at DCBS. Their dedication to customer service and rapid, accurate fulfillment is second-to-none," said Filip Sablik, BOOM!'s President of Publishing and Marketing. "By partnering with Cameron, Christina, and the rest of the team at DCBS, even fans who don’t have a local comic shop near them worldwide will be able to enjoy all of our great titles."
DCBS is one of the largest online stores for print comic books in the United States, and according to Image Comics is one of Diamond Comics Distributors' largest buyers - even when factoring in brick-and-mortar stores. DCBS also handles Image's direct comic book sales storefront, Image Direct.
“We are very excited about partnering with BOOM! for their webstore and subscription order fulfillment," said DCBS co-owner Christina Merkler. "BOOM! has a history of being an industry innovator and they continue to produce great content with fantastic production value. We look forward to working with them to take care of those customers that may not have access to a local comic shop.”
As part of this new partnership, BOOM! is offering 30% off select titles to new subscribers. They are: Adventure Time, Giant Days, Lucas Stand, Lumberjanes, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Over the Garden Wall, and The Woods. The publisher is also offering exclusives from Comic-Con International in San Diego to be delivered in August while supplies last.
