Arrow's Stephen Amell has announced a rematch with his WWE rival Stardust - but on his own turf this time.
Professional wrestler Cody Rhodes, who previously played Stardust in the WWE, will appear in an unspecified role in the upcoming fifth season of Arrow on the CW, according to the actor. Amell announced the news via Facebook Live in an event for New Jersey's Heroes & Villains Fanfest.
"Before we get going, we have an announcement," said Amell. "We have a new guest star on Arrow this year: Mr. Cody Rhodes. I'm so fired up for this guy; he and I haven't really had much of a chance to talk about it but we've been friends for a little over a year now. I know that Cody has really wanted to get into the acting business. He went to LA, he read for a part, and his deal closed yesterday and the dude is going to be on Arrow and I'm so fired up."
This comes after Rhodes left the WWE in May to pursue other opportunities including acting. In addition to playing several characters on wrestling programming, Rhodes also had a small role in Syfy's Warehouse 13.
Filming of Arrow's fifth season is scheduled to begin this week, with the season premiere scheduled for October 5.
