Actor Kenneth Choi has been cast to play the unnamed high school principal in Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Homecoming, according to Deadline. Choi recently portrayed Judge Lance Ito in FX's The People vs. O.J. Simpson, but would be best known to Marvel fans for playing the Howling Commando Jim Morita in Captain America: The First Avenger and in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The name of this purported principal character is unknown, but it is conceivable that Choi's re-casting could be explained as the character being a descendent of the World War II-era Morita.

Interestingly, in Marvel's current Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, Phil Coulson (voiced by Clark Gregg) is placed as Peter Parker's high school principal in order to watch over him.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled to open in theaters July 7, 2017.
