Marvel Comics has seen its share of controversy since seemingly revealing that the newly-returned Steve Rogers is a Hydra Agent in Captain America: Steve Rogers #1,  and it seems some of that controversy has translated to sales as the issue has sold out on the distributor level, with Marvel readying a second printing complete with new variant covers.

According to Comicbook.com, the covers will be a re-lettered version of series artist Jesus Saiz's original cover, seen here, along with a new version of Jim Steranko's previously-published variant, and an all new Hip Hop variant by Jeffrey Veregge.

“It was difficult to keep this big of a twist a secret until the very last minute,” said David Gabriel, Marvel's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Since it hit, it’s been exciting to watch it take the world by storm. Sales have skyrocketed and despite a massive overprint, we’ve completely sold out of the first issue and will rush it back to print with three different covers.”

The second printing of Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 is scheduled to go on sale July 6.
