Next X-MEN Film Confirmed To Be Set In The '90's

X-Men: Apocalypse

X-Men: Apocalypse producer Simon Kinberg has confirmed that the next X-Men film will jump ahead to the '90's.

After a series of decade hopping films set in the '60's (X-Men: First Class), '70's (X-Men: Days of Future Past), and '80's (X-Men: Apocalypse), Kinberg confirmed to ComingSoon that “The next one is set in the ’90's.”

For many fans, the '90's was the X-Men's heyday as one of Marvel's top-selling franchises, with a still beloved cartoon bringing many new fans to the series.

It's unclear whether Kinberg was referring to the next main franchise X-Men film, or one of the in-development spin-offs such as New Mutants.

20th Century Fox has several dates blocked out for X-Men franchise films, though none of the dates have had corresponding titles confirmed.
