MARVEL Replaces SPIDER-MAN Artist

Marvel have informed retailers that Sara Pichelli has been removed from the July-solicited Spider-Man #6. Ms. Marvel artist Nico Leon is taking over that issue, although the publisher informs Newsarama that Pichelli will return to the title at a later date. Spider-Man #6 is the first part of a tie-in to series writer Brian Michael Bendis' Civil War II event.

While not addressing the creative changes to the title, Bendis responded to a fan on his Tumblr about the scheduling of Spider-Man and it possibly going bi-monthly like several other Marvel titles.

"I think one of the reasons you like it is because of the time it takes to make it. so to get something as special as Sara’s artwork she needs the month. and that’s okay with me," said Bendis. "The new issue will be coming up very soon I think it’s rather subtly the best issue we have done together."

No reason was given for this change, or if there will be delays to any of the upcoming issues. The solicitation for Spider-Man #6 is as follows:
