20th Century Fox will not participate in major media presentations at Comic-Con International: San Diego's famous Hall H this year, according to TheWrap

The report cites Fox's fear of piracy of the exclusive clips that are often shown in Hall H as the reason for the studio's conspicuous absence. Fox's Trolls will reportedly be featured at the convention, as it's an animated partnership with DreamWorks Animation.

If these reports are accurate however, this means that no footage for tentpole films such as Assassin's Creed or the upcoming Wolverine 3 will be showcased. Fox reportedly declined to comment, while Comic-Con International could not be reached.

Interestingly, the announcement of Fox’s absence comes the same year and just one weekend ahead of Lionsgate launching a Comic-Con-themed on-demand video service, promising live and archival coverage of the con including live-streamed programming and airings of select Comic-Con panels, along with original programming.
