Warner Bros. presentation: Kevin Tsujihara confirms they're working on a stand-alone Batman movie with Ben Affleck. #CinemaCon— Rebecca Ford (@Beccamford) April 12, 2016
Original story: Writer/director Kevin Smith say he can confirm that Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns are working on a script for a solo Batman movie. Smith related a conversation he had with Johns during the latest episode of his Fat Man on Batman podcast with Marc Bernadin.
"[Ben Affleck has] been working on a solo script with Geoff Johns as well. Last conversation I had with Geoff Johns I was like are you working on it? and he said 'Yeah,'" claimed Smith. "I said, 'What's it like man, how do you co-write with someone?' and he's going 'We just break it up, he takes halves and I take halves and then we write, and then we switch material, and then he goes over mine and I go over his.' That sounds so f-ing fun, man."

Last July there were reports of the two working on a Batman script, but it was never confirmed. During press for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Affleck said he would be "interested" in it but didn't relate any current involvement in a project.
Earlier this week, Warner Bros. officially added two untitled DC Comics films to their release calendar in 2018 and 2019 respectively, with many outlets speculating a solo Batman film would occupy one of those dates.
Affleck is currently prepping for the two-part Justice League movies, which begins filming next week in England.
