Wizard World has announced plans for a December comic convention in a unique location: a cruise ship. Wizard World Cruise is set for December 2 - 5, departing from the port of Miami and going to Nasau, Bahamas. The three-night cruise is aboard the Norwegian Sky, and with The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus leading the guest list. An artists alley, cosplay contests, as well as traditional convention exhibitors will be a part of the event.

Done in conjunction with Rose Tours, the concept of a con-cruise isn't completely new; in 2000, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund hosted "Making Waves: the CBLDF Fundraising Cruise" with over 20 guests ranging from Frank Miller to Neil Gaiman, Evan Dorkin, Will Eisner, and Adrian Tomine. It is a first, however, for a major American comic convention company like Wizard World.

“We are excited to partner with Rose Tours for our first-ever Wizard World Cruise!,” said Wizard World COO Randy Malinoff. “Rose Tours has the best reputation for providing the fans with a great experience on their celebrity cruises. And having Norman Reedus among our inaugural guests is the best treat we can give our loyal fans!”

Prices start out at $749 per person for the 3-day cruise, and include meals, an open bar, and photos with the celebrity guests. The Norwegian Sky also includes a casino, spa, full gym, basketball/volleyball court and arcade.
