Nearly three years after its cancellation, fans of the Cartoon Network animated series Young Justice have launched a petition to bring the show back - but as a comic book.

Young Justice was a beloved series that ran for 2 years, spanning two seasons and gathering a lot of fans that, 3 years after cancellation, are still looking for more,” reads the fan-made petition on iPetitions.com. “Supporting this series have been the task of many, and there are hundreds of thousands of people wanting more of this story.”

The petition goes on to ask for series creators Christopher Jones and Greg Weisman to write a comic book series based on the continuity of the show to continue the storylines left unresolved when the series ended. In recent months, rumors have circulated that a third season of Young Justice could be created for Netflix, with several of the show's cast and crew tweeting their support for the idea, however nothing concrete has materialized.

As of this writing, the petition has 1,253 signatures.
