ABC has renewed Marvel Studios' Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a fourth season to begin in the fall of 2016. The show returns with the second half of its third season this Tuesday, March 8.

"Before we can embark on Season 4, though, Director Coulson and his tireless team still have to face the menace of Hive and the world's growing concerns about the number of Inhumans popping up across the globe," says a Marvel spokesperson. "There's plenty to come as we begin the second half of Season 3, and you won't want to miss a minute of it!"

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is one of 15 shows renewed by ABC, but Agent Carter isn't among them. Although it could be renewed at a later date, Variety counts the period show as one of several "on the bubble."

No word has been given on the potential new shows such as the Marvel's Most Wanted spin-off, or John Ridley's standalone series first mentioned last year.
