FLASH & CYBORG Confirmed for BATMAN v SUPERMAN, DOOMSDAY's Origin Revealed

SPOILERS for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ahead

Lex Luthor may appear affable in the trailers for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but there's a true villain lurking beneath that facade. According to this week's Entertainment Weekly, the film's Luthor not only "engineers a mass murder" to pit the two title heroes against each other, he also uses the corpse of Man of Steel villain General Zod to build the monstrous Doomsday. 

While many have speculated this would be the case - and indeed, the trailers have made it seem likely - this is confirmation of Doomsday's origin. The article also reveals that Luthor utilizes "Kryptonian artifacts" to turn Zod into Doomsday.

In addition, two new covers were revealed, one featuring Batman, and the other featuring Superman. Both feature the same cover stories, which reveal some interesting tidbits about the film. One blurb mentions Superman facing his "ultimate foe," and asks "will he survive?" Another mentions Wonder Woman's "secret mission."

Another blurb mentions "The Flash's terrifying vision." Ezra Miller's Flash will at least have a cameo in Batman v Superman, as will Ray Fisher's Cyborg and Jason Momoa's Aquaman, as reported previously.

The cover's final blurb says "You won't believe who's been cut from the film!" implying that there may have been even more cameos planned that aren't in the final film. 

A video attached to the article also explains that director Zack Snyder has mapped out the DC film universe's full timeline, including when and how these other characters appeared.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters March 25.
