J.K. Simmons's portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films is undoubtedly a fan favorite, and a recent petition to get him to reprise his role in Marvel and Sony's joint Spider-Man reboot only proves that fact. Now, Simmons himself has said he'll "never close the door" on getting back behind the desk at The Daily Bugle.
"Doing those movies with Sam was one of the great joys of my career," Simmons told Entertainment Tonight. “It was a super fun character so I -- I'll never close the door on anything."
Simmons has already reprised the role, lending his voice to the character on Disney XD's Ultimate Spider-Man. Despite his willingness to play the role again, Simmons also made it clear that he was not involved in the petition.
The untitled Spider-Man reboot is scheduled to hit theaters July 7, 2017.
