Updated March 3, 2016: Joss Whedon is returning to Marvel and re-teaming with his Astonishing X-Men collaborator John Cassaday on a back-up story to  March's Captain America: Sam Wilson #7, according to ComicBook. Cassaday was originally solicited as both writing and drawing the story in issue, which is timed to coincide with Cap's 75th anniversary.

Whedon and Cassaday's new story will reportedly be "celebrating the legacy and legend of Captain America."

Whedon and Cassaday first worked together on Astonishing X-Men, and maintained a friendship with carried through to Cassaday directing an episode of Whedon's Dollhouse series on Fox.

Captain America: Sam Wilson #7 is scheduled for release March 30.

March's Captain America: Sam Wilson #7 is solicited to have a short story by John Cassaday, as well as stories by Tim Sale and the duo of Greg Rucka and Mike Perkins.

Cassaday recently appeared on ABC's Captain America 75th Anniversary Special.
