With Deadpool an unmitigated success, fans have begun clamoring for all the Wade Wilson they can get - including launching a petition to have him host Saturday Night Live

“How would this not be hilarious having Deadpool in sketches, breaking the 4th wall, and inserting some of his brand of humor (obviously toned down a bit for network television)!?!?!” says fan Andrew Stege in a Change.Org petition.

Stege says that hhe hasn’t watched SNL in years, but Ryan Reynolds hosting as Deadpool would change his mind. This wouldn’t be the first time someone hosted SNL in character – Don Novello’s father Guido Sarducci hosted in the 1980’s. At the time of this writing, the petition has 23,820 signatures.

And that's not the only Deadpool-centric petition making the rounds. Two separate petitions, one through Change.Org and the other through Care2Petitions, have been launched to have a statue of Deadpool erected in the character's stated hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan Canada. Deadpool himself has claimed to be Canadian in comic books, though different stories have also shown him having served in the U.S. military.

Unfortunately, proponents of those petitions - currently with a combined 3,338 signatures - will have a hard time selling the city of Regina on that one. Regina's mayor, Michael Fougere, simply responded "Nope." via Facebook when the petitions were brought to his attention.
