Agent Carter star Hayley Atwell has been cast in the lead role of a new ABC series in development called Conviction, according to Deadline. The new procedural drama is co-created by Jessica Jones' Liz Friedman, and is being produced by the Mark Gordon Company. Neither ABC, Marvel Studios or Atwell have commented on the situation.

ABC is currently airing the second season of Marvel's Agent Carter, but Deadline estimates that given its ratings the show may not be renewed. If it does however, and Conviction is also greenlit, the Hollywood trade cites undisclosed sources saying it's possible Atwell could juggle starring roles in both, simultaneously, if they were both "limited runs."

After the end of the current season of Agent Carter, Atwell is scheduled to appear in May 6's Captain America: Civil War.

Agent Carter airs Tuesdays on ABC.
