20th Century Fox have already greenlit a sequel to this Friday's Deadpool, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Original screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are already reportedly writing the screenplay for the follow-up, with the studio aiming to re-sign director Tim Miller to return as well.
According to the Hollywood trade, this weekend's Deadpool is currently projected to earn at least $65 million over the four-day holiday weekend, with some estimates ranging even higher.
No release date has been given for the sequel, but 20th Century Fox already has several opening dates usable for such a film.
