Warner Bros. has moved the Steven Spielberg film Ready Player One three months back to March 30, 2018, steering clear of Star Wars: Episode VIII which Disney recently moved to December 15, 2017, according to Variety.
Coincidently, Spielberg has strong ties to the Star Wars franchise, being a friend and confidante to both George Lucas and J.J. Abrams. He's also credited as the Assistant Director of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
Ready Player One is an adaptation of the novel by Ernest Cline. Ben Mendelsohn and Olivia Cooke are the principal stars.
With Ready Player One moved, there are currently no other films opening on December 15, 2017 alongside Star Wars: Episode VIII.
