Updated January 11, 2016: Turner Entertainment's Chief Creative Officer Kevin Reilly has explained TNT's decision not to move forward with the planned Titans series.

“[Writer] Akiva [Goldsman] is a talented guy,” Reilly explained to The Hollywood Reporter, “[But] the script just wasn't there. There is an unbelievable glut of superhero things in the market right now and if you have a really good one, clearly people are up for it. But I just don't think that there's a need for one that, for me, at least on paper didn't seem to be screaming to get made.”

Original Story: TNT president Kevin Reilly has confirmed that the network's planned Titans series by Akiva Goldsman has been scrapped.

“We decided it wasn’t where we wanted to go,” Reilly told the Television Critics Association (via Deadline).

The potential series would have been based loosely on Teen Titans, and reportedly would have featured a line-up including Nightwing, Raven, Starfire, Barbara Gordon, Hawk, and Dove.
