Online movie ticket vendor Fandango has surveyed its customers to find out what they're anticipating most -- and the answers might surprise you.

The next Star Wars film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story claimed the top spot for its upcoming December 16 release. Trailing close behind it are Finding Dory and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the second and third spots. The comic book-based Captain America: Civil War is fifth behind the next next Jason Bourne movie (which is still untitled).

“Film fans already know what they want for their 2016 holiday present, as they count down the days till December 16 when the next Star Wars story opens in theaters,” says Fandango Chief Correspondent Dave Karger. “The new year promises plenty of action, star turns and first-time comic book adaptations to satisfy a wide range of consumers and to continue the momentum of 2015’s banner year for moviegoing.”

For most anticipated actress, comedic acor Melissa McCarthy beat out Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence due in no small part to her upcoming role in Ghostbusters.

On the male side, Matt Damon claimed the top spot coming off his work on The Martian and into this year's return to the Jason Bourne franchise. He beat out Will Smith, Ryan Reynolds, Ben Affleck and George Clooney.

Surveying it's customers for the next rising star, Fandango named Sophie Turner (X-Men: Apocalypse, Game of Thrones) and Tom Holland (Captain America: Civil War).

Breaking out comic book movies into its own subcategory, Fandango asked who is the most anticipated comic book character debuting in a major role in 2016. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman is no surprise, but perhaps of note is Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther in Civil War ranked only sixth.
