Updated December 7, 2015 at 4:15 p.m. EST: Marvel has now confimed Scott Buck as Iron Fist's showrunner, in a brief article at Deadline.
"Scott came in with a take on Iron Fist that quite simply knocked us off our feet,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel's head of television. “We always look for the most creative minds in the field to help us bring our heroes to life, and with Scott we’ve found someone that can deliver yet another great series in the ongoing story of The Defenders.”
Buck was also quoted, calling Danny Rand the kind of "complex, intriguing characters" he's alwawys been drawn to.
Original Story: Writer/producer Scott Buck has been hired as the showrunner for Marvel's upcoming Iron Fist series on Netflix, according to ComicBook. The reported synopsis of the series sounds akin to Arrow.
"Returning to New York City after being missing for four years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist."
Scott Buck has worked as a writer/producer on numerous shows including Dexter and Six Feet Under.
No release date has been given for Iron Fist. Netflix recently premiered Jessica Jones, and is currently filming Luke Cage and the second season of Daredevil for a 2016 debut.
