'Pooh' Writer to Handle Wanted 2 Script

Angelina Jolie as "The Fox" in Universal's 'Wanted'

Wanted 2, the film sequel to last year’s adaptation of the Mark Millar/J.G.Jones miniseries has found a screenwriter in the form of Evan Spiliotopoulos, this according to The Hollywood Reporter. Prior to this, Spiliotopoulos has co-written Pooh's Heffalump Movie and its direct to DVD spinoff. Spiliotopoulosalso recently adapted the Dave Roman graphic novel Agnes Quill: An Anthology of Mystery for film.

While THR reports, “the in-development sequel is based on the comic series created by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones,” it most likely means that based on the characters and situations, as Millar has been adamant that there will be no comic book sequel to the original comic book story.

Wanted 2 will be produced by Marc E. Platt, Jim Lemley and Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov, is slated to direct the sequel.

The original film drew a worldwide box office of $339 million.
