Kylo Ren's presence in Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been something of a mystery since the character was revealed. Now, Adam Driver, who portrays Kylo Ren, has revealed new details, telling Empire he views the character as a "religious fanatic."
“When they think of their actions as morally justified,” Driver explained. "It makes them dangerous and unpredictable. There’s no level they won’t go to to accomplish what they’re after. I never thought of the character as an evil person.”
Along with Driver's comments, Empire has released a new image of Kylo Ren flanked by a pair of First Order Stormtroopers.
Many fan theories about the truth of Ren's identity have made the rounds, with some people even speculating that the character will have some connection to Luke Skywalker. Director J.J. Abrams revealed several months ago that Ren is not a Sith Lord, despite his appearance and use of a lightsaber.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18.
