Screenwriter David Leslie Johnson has been hired for Warner Bros.' big-screen Aquaman movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Coincidentally, the screenwriter is already working with the film's director James Wan on his current project, The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist.
David Leslie Johnson broke into the film industry working as an assistant to director Frank Darabound beginning with Shawshank Redemption. The Ohio State University graduate has written numerous screenplays, including Wrath of the Titans, Red Riding Hood and Orphan. He also wrote for the second season of The Walking Dead.
There's no word on the status of the scripts penned by Will Beall and Kurt Johnstad, who were hired in 2014 to write Aquaman.
Aquaman is scheduled for release July 27, 2018.
