Pope's Battling Boy Gets Screenwriter

Battling Boy

Moving on from Watchmen, screenwriter Alex Tse will next adapt Paul Pope’s Battling Boy for Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company and Paramount Pictures. The graphic novel is to be published by First Second in early 2010.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The story line follows the son of a god who comes down from the top of a mountain at his father's urging to rid the giant, continent-sized city of Monstropolis of a plague of beasts.”

This is Tse’s third genre project coming up – the screenwriter is also working on the live-action adaptation of Ninja Scroll for Leonardo DiCaprio’s Apppian Way as well as an updated adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s The Illustrated Man for director Zach Snyder.

Meanwhile, Plan B is working on David Fincher directed adaptations of The Killer, Black Hole and World War Z.
