Marvel has announced that writer Jason Aaron has renewed his exclusive agreement with the publisher. Aaron currently writes Star Wars, The Mighty Thor and Doctor Strange for the publisher.

“I’ve worked with Marvel for a number of years on a lot of different titles and had a lot of fun along the way, but right now I am seriously having the most fun I’ve ever had in my entire career,” saidJason Aaron. “Between The Mighty Thor, Doctor Strange and Star Wars, I have enough cool stuff on my plate to keep me happy for many many months to come.”

Aaron made his comic book debut in 2002 after winning a Marvel talent search contest, with his story appearing in 2002's Wolverine #175. In January 2008, Aaron signed his first exclusive with Marvel after coming to fame writing The Other Side, Scalped, and Wolverine.

“Jason Aaron will continue to bring his big, bald beautiful brain to the Marvel Universe,” said Axel Alonso, Marvel's Editor-In-Chief. “I can finally exhale.”

Aaron recently launched several new creator-owned series at Image including Southern Bastards and The Goddamned, and those look to be unaffected by this renewed agreement with Marvel. Although called "exclusive," these exclusive agreements commonly have room for the creator to do outside work as long as it isn't with the publisher's primary competitor; in this case, DC.
