The Joker is known to be a role where an actor plays up the craziest, but Suicide Squad's Jared Leto reportedly thinks it might land him in a cell. According to The National, Leto was at Music Week Dubai and told a fan wearing a Batman shirt that his portrayal of the Joker would be exceptionally shocking.

"I can’t wait for you to see this," Leto said. "They’re going to lock me away in a box after this movie comes out.”

Leto wouldn't be the first actor driven to madness by playing the Joker. Heath Ledger's Oscar-winning performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight famously took the actor to some dark places. Meanwhile Jack Nicholson, who played the Joker in 1989's Batmanclaimed he "warned" Ledger of the dangers of playing the clown prince of crime in the wake of Ledger's untimely death.

Just how crazy did Leto go becoming the Joker? Fans will find out when Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
