Updated September 16, 2015 at 7:10 PM: Rupert Wyatt has confirmed his exit from Gambit, issuing the follwing statement to Deadline, which blames his exit on a scheduling conflict that arose when the start of filming was pushed to March 2016.

“I was very much looking forward to working with my friend Channing and the team at Fox, but regrettably a push in the start date now conflicts with another project. I thank them for the opportunity, and I know that Gambit will make a terrific film.”

Original Story: Deadline is reporting that director Rupert Wyatt is dropping out of the planned Gambit movie starring Channing Tatum. The film was scheduled to begin shooting early next year for a October 7, 2016 release date.

No reason was given for the reported exit, but it comes just weeks after the movie's star Channing Tatum was set to walk out of the movie before a final deal with 20th Century Fox was agreed upon.
