Frank Castle is curiously absent from Marvel's announced plans for "All-New All-Different Marvel" this fall, and with a recent trends towards replacing iconic characters (see Captain America, Thor, Wolverine and the Hulk), could the Punisher be next?

Newsarama has the first look at a Mark Bagley variant cover to October's Contest of Champions #1, with the return of Outlaw, the self-described "British Punisher." Outlaw was originally introduced in 1992's The Punisher #64 by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning and Doug Braithwaite. The London-based vigilante idolized the Punisher, and teamed with him on several occasions.

Outlaw is one of several lesser-known Marvel characters returning in Contests of Champions, which launches October 7 .
